In this modern-day world of technology, electronic products have become an integral part of our lives. From entertainment to communication, we all rely on electronic devices to perform everyday tasks. But this wouldn’t be possible without PCBs.
PCB layout designers face an issue of not being able to place component properly for EMI, Mechanical and Assembly purposes as many are unaware of the different shortcut keys that can be used to easily navigate the PADS environment. In addition, they lack the knowledge to check for errors according to DFT and DFM standards.
In this PCB Design course, you will learn the basic design flow process and find out how schematic changes affect layout. Gain hands-on experience by performing actual layout procedures such as schematic creation, footprint creation, placement and routing
and Gerber creation using Mentor Graphics PADS VX Standard. You will be exposed to the new constraint editor system that is being introduced in PADS VX. With a better understanding of the basic IPC standards regarding proper layout practices and requirements,
you will be able to design high quality and reliable PCBs.

Ms Suriani Mohd Arsad is an IPC-Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) with more than 10 years of experience in the PCB industry.
Suriani joined Wizlogix in 2012 as a PCB Design Engineer and is proficient in Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS, DownStream CAM350, GC-Prevue and GD-CAM.
As a developer of PCB designs for the consumer electronics sector, Suriani has previously designed load boards, printer boards, daughter-cards, burn-in boards, flex/rigid boards, RF boards, wearable PCB designs and HDI.
As a testament to her expert knowledge, Suriani is now an in-house trainer at Wizlogix, teaching Basic PCB Design, Advanced PCB Design and Gerber Techniques courses. She has also conducted customised training programmes such as the Fundamentals of PCB Design & Manufacturing for Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
