ABOUT CAT

The CAT Qualification is a diploma level qualification awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). It is a qualification designed for those who are looking to start career in finance, certify for the skills and experience already gained in employment or gain accelerated progression to the ACCA qualification.
CAT graduates are given direct entry into Part Two Skills Module of the ACCA’s Professional Scheme.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Obtained at least two GCE N Level credits with pass (grade 5) in Mathematics or equivalent, preferably with some bookkeeping knowledge
  • Language proficiency is IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
STUDENT REGISTRATION

All students wish to sit for exams must register as a member with ACCA/CAT(S). It normally takes about 3 months to process an application once ACCA/CAT(S) has received your registration form & documents.

  • 1st eligible exam - June
  • 1st eligible exam – December
  • Deadline for submission
  • 31st December of the previous year
  • 15th August of the same year
EXEMPTION & EXAMINATION

All students who wish to apply for exemption must include certificates and detailed transcript of all relevant papers taken at other examinations. For a comprehensive list of exemptions granted for CAT, visit the ACCA website at http://www.accaglobal.com/join/exemptions.

All exemptions are subject to final approval by ACCA (UK)
For CAT students, no exemption fees for Introductory & Intermediate Levels. For Advanced Level it is ₤49 per paper.

For CAT Examinations

  • Normally held in June and December each year
  • Examination duration for each Introductory, Intermediate Levels as well as Advanced level compulsory papers is 2 hours
  • Examination duration for each Advanced Level optional papers is 3 hours
  • There is no time limit to completion
  • For papers at Introductory, Intermediate Levels as well as Advanced Level compulsory papers, you can choose computer based examination (CBE) monthly or paper based examination.

Outline

CAT is divided into 3 levels – Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced Level. Students are required to pass 9 papers unless exemptions are awarded. That is all papers under Introductory, Intermediate, 3 compulsory papers and 2 optional papers under Advanced Level.

Course Structure

  • Full-time (16 month) and Part-time (18 month) classes are available
  • Classroom based, face to face lecture delivery
  • Classes are conducted once a week per subject, unless otherwise stated
  • Lessons will normally fall on the day specified, unless otherwise stated
  • Class time: Day 10.00am – 1.00pm/2.00pm to 5.00pm, Evening 7.00pm – 10.00pm

The main purpose is to offer certificate & diploma as well as degree programs for working adults and school leavers to prepare them for a globalised world. In line with our niche market concept of staying focus & relevant, most of our courses, if possible are conducted in bilingual of English/Mandarin. All of our courses and teachers are registered with Ministry of Education, Singapore.

 

We believe in small is beautiful. Because of our size we are able to offer flexibility & personalized educational services to our students. Currently we have one full time and 12 part time MOE registered teachers. We maintained a student to teacher ratio of maximum 28:1.
