A Cappella Vocal Jam moves even closer towards a child-centric programme that is organic and more about music-making. Students will be engaged to contribute and participate from the start of the programme and to help with the creation of music and also participate in mini quiz through the show. A Cappella Vocal Jam will embrace a full body (instrument) approach to vocal music-making where students explore their voices, their bodies and their minds to create music alongside our Vocal Jam specialist, Angelina Choo and her team. This programme is a great introduction to expandable workshops or classroom music lessons for a whole body, musical experience. (voice, mind and body)
The A Cappella Society has been educating students for over 15 years and we have developed and refined our programmes and management of programmes over the years. We are the leading not-for-profit a cappella training specialist in Singapore.
PROGRAMME:
Opening Presentation (Loop / Rhythm / Melody with audience clapping participation)
Greetings & Welcome
Start of mini quiz (Use of SLC Technique - students given three hand signs to raise their hands to answer the questions. Answers given, students are able to self check their answers - always a lot of fun!
2nd Song : Spoken Canon / Body Percussion with audience participation
Fun Vocal Warm Ups - Firstly sounds (consonants) Next Breathing Technique Then Support & Twang Followed by Vowels (Call & Answer)
3rd Song : Rhythm based audience participation number with beatbox / vocal percussion / loop machine*
4th Song : Improvisational Piece derived from a folk song (Pentatonic Scale)
5th Song : Audience sings Ostinatos to help create our closing song with Loop / recorded loop
- To create a greater connection with the student body, we will invite individual students up to participate. They can be prepared in a proper workshop or also briefed before the show.
