Everyone. We welcome both actors and non-actors with an interest in performing arts / improvisation / storytelling.
This workshop is open to anyone from all backgrounds. Minimum age for admission is 16 and above.

About this workshop
In this workshop, participants will familiarise themselves with Viola Spolin’s techniques for improvising through games and making up short stories.
These games can then be used to play formats like cabaret, “wrestling” improv or the match format. All of which will be introduced during the course. This competitive improvisation is very popular in Europe and Canada, countries with improv teams who meet every year to compete in a world championship.
The study of improv as a sport allows students to embrace the unexpected and follow their instincts as they examine:
What makes the narrative structure in improv?
How do we focus on acting and the narrative at the same time?
How can we surpass our personal comfort zones?
What makes good improv, good?
After the 8 weeks, competitive improv match team(s) will be formed, ready to take the stage.
Founded by Kamil Haque in 2013, the Haque Centre of Acting & Creativity (HCAC) is an acting school. HCAC is one of the companies under Method Metropolis, an umbrella group focusing on arts, entertainment, and education.
HCAC, is the home of Method Acting in Asia. It is the first professional acting school in English in Singapore. Regardless of your background, training and experience, the training caters to actors and non-actors from as young as 13 years old. The multi-approach training includes acting fundamentals, techniques and specific skill sets of the actor’s craft to add depth and breadth to your method of acting.
Located on the edge of the Little India Arts Belt in Singapore, the HCAC studio is nestled in a conservation shop house - A creative home and safe haven for students to hone their craft, build a network and free their talent.
