Define talent management and its relationship with other human resource and business functions and strategies

Develop a talent management strategy

  • Determine strategy for managing talent in line with business needs
  • Review the alignment of the talent management programs with other HR programs
  • Align organizational policies and procedures to support talent management

Determine organizational talent capability

  • Analyze the requirements of current and future roles to determine availability of talent pool
  • Consult stakeholders to identify issues relating to Talent Management
  • Identify talent gaps within the organization
  • Review current tools and processes used for TM development

Implement talent management programs

  • Line manager's role and accountability for implementing and participating in the identification of talent
  • Develop line manager's capability to assess and manage talents
  • Support line manager in implementing TM programmes
  • Conduct TM in consultation with stakeholders, using tools, methodologies and criteria as defined in the TM strategy
  • Review assessment outcome to categorize talent within the talent pools
  • Evaluate assessment outcomes in consultation with stakeholders to document identified trends
  • Document recommendations to address any issues arising from assessment
