- It seeks to provide an excellent underpinning knowledge of health and safety, as well as a sound basis for evaluating (and managing) potential hazards and risks.
- The syllabus incorporates international, technical and other standards where they exist. In other cases, requirements and practices that represent 'good practice' are followed.
Tuition is in English however candidates can request their examination in in Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, Turkish or French.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE NEBOSH IGC IN OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH?
The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Safety and Health is for :
- personnel with health & safety responsibilities, e.g. managers, supervisors, safety officers, non-safety specialists etc & who need a grounding &
recognised qualification in occupational safety & health.
- it is also beneficial for those wanting to further their career in the HSE field or those who wish to enhance their
HSE knowledge.
HOW IS THE NEBOSH IGC IN OCCUPATIONAL COURSE ASSESSED & WHAT CERTIFICATION CAN YOU GET?
- Participants will be assessed by one Open Book Examination (OBE) that will test the learners' ability to analyse, evaluate & apply learning, and a practical risk assessment (three-hour) that will evaluate what learners can
do.
- Upon successful completion and passing, learners will be awarded the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health. Certification is issued by NEBOSH UK.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Holders of the NEBOSH International General Certificate are eligible for membership of the following professional organisations, subject to their meeting the necessary post-qualification experience requirements:
- Institution of Occupational Safety and Health - Tech IOSH
- International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) - Associate Member
Outline
The contents of the course are covered in two units (NEW Syllabus) and their applications are practiced and tested in the third unit :-

Note: The IG1 unit is the core unit for other qualifications offered such as ICC and IFC.
