Overview
On successful completion of this course, attendees will be able to understand and apply ergonomic principles, undertake ergonomic risk assessments, and understand the causes of upper limb disorders. They will also gain a better understanding of methods of reducing risks through appreciation of workplace layout and environmental aspects of good ergonomic design.

Who should attend?
Suitable for any workplace safety and health professionals, display screen assessors, anyone who is working towards the International Occupational Hygiene Certificate, human factors practitioners, project managers, support managers, operation managers and anyone in similar professions.

Course Assessment
Attendees are assessed with a 40-short answer open-book written examination with an allowed time of 120 minutes at the conclusion of the course.

Certification
BOHS will issue a certificate of successful course completion to candidates who have successfully completed the course.

This course is an accredited course by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) as an elective module for the International Occupational Hygiene Certificate.

Pre-requisite and Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN)
Whilst there is no pre-requisite for this course, it is recommended that the attendee is certified with the W201 Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene certification. Ideally, a WPLN Level 5 or equivalent IELTS 5-6 would be recommended to ensure quality comprehension of the subject matter.

Speaker/s

ZEPHAN CHAN

Zephan has extensive working experience as an occupational health, safety and environmental consultant to various industries and public organizations in Singapore and the region. He has provided consultancy support in the development of and implementation of safety and health and environmental management systems, risk assessment and management. He is an ACTA certified WSH trainer and developer and has developed and taught a range of Ministry of Manpower accredited courses including bizSAFE.

He contextualised and now teaches Occupational Health and Safety for the University of Western Australia in Singapore and has served as an associate lecturer with the University of Newcastle in the BEnvOHS degree. Zephan has industrial experience in a range of sectors including:

  • Oil and Gas Industry
  • Manufacturing (Flavor & fragrances, food, electronic, chemical and various FMCG)
  • Construction (HDB and private residential projects)
  • Water Supply and Waste Management (PUB Singapore)
  • Logistics
  • Retail and F&B
