Course Objectives
At the end of the course the trainees will be able to:
- Identify the underlying causes of different types of unintentional injuries
- Administer basic immediate first aid without any medical help
- Learn adult CPR and use of AED machine
- Learn foreign body airway obstruction management for conscious adult
- Effectively organise a mass casualty incident

- Introduction to First Aid (Safety First, equipment and supplies)
- Roles & Responsibilities of a First Aider
- Casualty Handling (Rescue & Transfer)
- Human Body Overview
- Care for Shock (Fainting, Sever Allergic Reaction)
- Care for Short Tissue Injuries (Wounds, Nose Bleeding, Burns)
- Care for Poisoning
- Drug & Alcohol Emergencies
- Care for Choking & Drowning
- Care for Bones, Joints & Muscle Injuries
- Medical Emergencies
- Bandaging Techniques
- Adult CPR
- AED safety issues
- AED usage
- Triaging, Rapid Triage
- Mass Casualty Incident
Course Assessment
Theory Assessment: 80% passing rate, Multiple Choice Questions, 2 attempts
Practical Assessment: 100% passing rate, 3 attempts
- The re-assessment fee of $40 applies for trainees who failed on the 2nd attempt of the theory assessment
- Trainees who fail in any practical assessment will have to retake theory and practical assessment
- Trainees who fail on the 3rd attempt of the practical assessment will retake the entire course

Certification
Certificate will be given at the end of the training once the trainees pass the skills set required. The certificate is valid for 2 years
