Why Prenatal Pilates? 

Prenatal Pilates is an ideal exercise for pregnant women due to their many benefits in improving core muscles, balance and stamina. All these are essential to support the health of the pregnant body.  Pilates workouts are designed to strengthen your core muscles with an emphasis on abdominal muscles, lower back and muscles of the pelvic floor.  Therefore as the tummy muscles are strengthened, your body is better enabled to cope with the increasing weight of the baby, As the pelvic floor muscles become stronger, it is more resistant to tears and a reduction of urinary incontinence can be observed.  

So, what does Prenatal Pilates do?  

Our Prenatal Pilates classes start by working on the lower back muscles so they are strengthened. The emphasis on improving the posture also leads to lesser lower back strains. We also work on lengthening the thigh muscles such as the hamstrings. We improve overall circulation with good breathing techniques.
