Learning Italian can appear daunting at first. However, here at the Oxford Language Academy, our teachers make learning to speak Italian easy. Our Conversational Italian classes are specially designed for beginners and for those who intend to brush up their conversational Italian language skills. Through the guidance of our learned teachers, your Italian learning experience will be smooth and exciting.
With the aid of English translations, students will learn Italian dialogue, basic grammar, vocabulary and expressions. It will also illustrate communication etiquette and formalities on how to address others. Even though this class emphasises on the speaking aspect of the Italian language, students will also learn to read simple Italian phrases and dialogues.
Part of learning a language involves embracing its use in its native context and the rich culture behind it. Students get glimpse of the distinct lifestyle and diverse experiences of Italian culture through the various illustrations of Italian culture that is presented in every lesson. Classes held are immersive and interactive, enabling students to speak Italian to one another.
With the use of phonetic exercises, students will learn proper pronunciation of the Italian language, as well as, speaking in the correct Italian accent. The aim of these Italian classes is to develop students’ conversational skills
and appreciation for Italian. Students will be able to seamlessly converse by delivering simple sentences and honing a vocabulary of at least 400 words. Hence, at the end of the course, students will be able to construct basic sentences with proper grammatical
structure.
Levels
There are 4 levels to our Conversational Italian course – Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 & Level 4. Each level consists of 20 hours of classes.
Prerequisite
Level 1
This course is for absolute beginners. English is used as the medium of instruction to teach Conversational Italian Level 1. There are no minimum requirements for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents (PR’s). However, foreigners would first be required
to go through an interview, to assess their suitability for this course.
Level 2
Students are required to successfully complete Conversational Italian Level 1, before they can embark on this Conversational Italian Level 2 course.
Level 3
Students are required to successfully complete Conversational Italian Level 2, before they can embark on this Conversational Italian Level 3 course.
Level 4
Students are required to successfully complete Conversational Italian Level 3, before they can embark on this Conversational Italian Level 4 course.
Students requesting direct entry to any course beyond Level 1 must undergo a placement test.
