Professionals who want to stay plugged in to China’s rapid economic growth, would inevitably has to sharpen their translation and interpreting skills to better engage their Chinese business partners. The Diploma in Translation and Interpretation Skills programme is designed for professionals who aspire to increase their versatility to effectively communicate in both English and Chinese to fulfil their business goals.   
 
This course aims at raising the bilingual translation skills for professionals in various fields in Singapore and training English-Chinese and Chinese-English translators with perceptiveness in both English and Chinese and translation skills.
 
Entry Requirements 
At least a pass in 'O' level English as 1st language or equivalent
AND
At least a pass in 'O' level Chinese as 2nd language or New Intermediate HSK (Grade 5) or Old Intermediate HSK (Grade 8)

Outline

The programme adopts a systematic and practical approach. Besides providing an in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of English and Chinese languages, translation principles and techniques, topical practices form an integral part of the programme.

The Singapore Chinese Chamber Institute of Business (SCCIOB) is an ISO 9001:2008 certified non-profit training and education body registered under the Registry of Societies (UEN S92SS0008J) and a subsidiary of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI). The Institute’s history as a training and education provider can be traced back to 1984 when it first started as a Training Centre with governmental aid. It upgraded to its current status, the Institute of Business, in 1996.
