Course Description

A joint initiative by BCM Institute and the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). This course is one of the first in a three-part series WSQ BCM workshops. Participants who complete the three-part competency-based training series will be able to achieve a Business Continuity Certified Specialist (BCCS) certification* through the successful completion of the BCCS examination.

The workshop covers applying facilitation techniques to support the development of organisational business continuity strategies and interpreting the strategies, assisting in developing business continuity plans, as well as recommending refinements to the developed strategies and plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

* The participant is required to successfully complete all three workshops (BCM-310 Assessing Risk and Business Impact Requirements, BCM-320 Developing Business Continuity Strategies and Plans and BCM-330 Testing and Exercising Business Continuity Plans),. He/She will need to make the payment towards attending the Qualifying Business Continuity Certified Specialist (BCCS) Examination @ SGD 200, pass the exam and send in your application form to attain the internationally recognised BCCS certification.

NOTE: Singaporean and Singaporean PR participants in the Singapore course would also be getting a Statement of Attainment from the Workplace Development Authority at the completion of workshop and assessment.

The course would be available on Tuesday with assessment done on Friday. The assessment is essential for participants to be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment.

Certification
BC Certified Specialist (BCCS) certification is awarded to participants who successfully completed the three part series, passed the Qualifying BCCS examination, sends in an application detailing at least 1 year of BC experience, make the application processing fee payment of SGD75 and satisfies and meets the experience requirements of the independent certification body.

Objectives
  • To train participants to facilitate the development of business continuity strategies and plans.

  • Senior and Middle Management, Department Representatives, Business Unit BCM Coordinators, Organisational BC Coordinators and Planners.
  • Newly appointed members of the BCM team.
  • Any member of the organization involved in the implementation of a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
  • New to BC or DR, or recently been involved in BC or DR project /programme within your organization.

SSG course funding is available for Singaporean and Singapore PR. 

  • For Singaporean and Singapore PR who are 39 years and younger the course fee is at SGD650 nett
  • For Singaporean who are 40 years and older the course fee is at SGD300 nett

Each participant who complete and pass the assessment will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment.

International Certification

For those who are interested to obtain the internationally recognised BCM certification, Business Continuity Certified Specialist, they would need to pay SGD200 for the Qualifying BCCS exam, pass the exam and send in their application form detailing their 1 year of BCM experience along with the BCCS application fees of SGD75.
