Details

An introduction to the core concepts of Viewpoints and Suzuki theatre training, and their practical application including training techniques and composition exercises. Both Suzuki and Viewpoints are methods of actor training. In Suzuki, actors are taught to locate their centre and ground themselves in their movements on stage. Viewpoints is improvisational and actors learn to free themselves from the expectations and rigidity of the narrative to truly exist in their bodies.

Through this workshop, you will learn how to respond organically and intuitively to your environment as well as overcome your physical limitations as an individual.

This workshop is highly rewarding for both actors and non-actors. It aims to improve your physicality and develops in you a strong presence in front of an audience. In cultivating an awareness to sensory details, the training also encourages mental stamina, endurance and focus. Viewpoints and Suzuki training, when viewed holistically as a way-of-life, can be an eye-opening experience akin to yoga and the martial arts.
